Railway making profit under Laloo

Indian railway made a remarkable profit under the administration of Mr. Laloo Prasad Yadav, the Union Railway Minister of India. This impressive achievement made some research firms and students to do a study material. But, as analysing this, or backtracking, how they made these kind of profit? The profit making run of railway makes the public in a big trouble.

There was a good time to the people, in the name of service, when Nitish Kumar was the railway minister. He introduced the "Tatkal scheme", for the emergency ticket reservation, with the confirmation of seats. Those who are providing the proof of identity with some fixed amount more than the normal charges, can occupy a reservation, a day prior to the date of journey. And these kind of "Tatkal people" have special coach, and the official make sure that no other persons are allowed to travel in that coach. This increased more security.

But the new minister, Mr. Laloo, taken out these schemes, but kept the name "Tatkaal", in which anybody can book the ticket, there is no need for proof of identity. But the person should pay the amount, from where the train starts and ends, plus 3 times more than the previous rate for Tatkaal. This schematic change made, a big benefit of agents and the seat allocation is like that, it may come in anywhere, sometimes with RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) people. So, the difficulty of the travelling increased. Second, now, anybody can book the ticket, 5 days prior to the date of journey also, they are issuing the waiting list tickets for Tatkaal. At the beginning, this scheme doesn't have cancellation, or anybody cancells, don't get the amount back too. So, what is the use of Tatkaal? Making billioners to the company, prompting public to use other than railway for emergency cases. This made the travelling difficulty is very high. For booking the Tatkaal ticket, we may have to give additional price for the agents to give a public place to stand at reservation counter too.

Other "improvements" made by Laloo is, instead of using paper glass, he started pottery items. But, the difficulty of pottery items prompts the users, not to use it and now, it is only for literary, but nobody using it at all. Where the money for this improvements gone? No idea. In whose pockets? This is what the improvements of railways. In this democracy, people can't do anything.
