Outsourced

NBC is set to air a show about Indian companies, called  "Outsourced".  Its content is hilarious and subsequently a kind of racist program.  Watch this trailer first and what you feel of it?  Click here . According to NBC's official description, the set-in-India workplace series "centers on the all-American company Mid America Novelties whose call center has suddenly been outsourced to India and a manager, played by Ben Rappaport, is being transferred to India to run the operation.” Supposedly, the socio-economic aspects of exporting American jobs to India are not expected to be front and center story-wise. Instead, the series is billed as “the Midwest meets the exotic East in a hilarious culture clash” . When you watch this preview, you can see first the call center manager drinks coffee in a toilet closet shaped mug.  What these Americans thinks?  Indians are eating their shit and drinking what they piss ?  It's really cruel to show lik...

Parenting - a stage of life

I have had a talk with one of my friend recently, who is father of 2 small kids.   At present they living in one of the English country and planning to move to an Asian country.  I was surprised about his decision and was asking, why like that?  His answer was revealing real worry of parent, who will be most concern about their children.  Present culture of English require, a boy need girl friend and girl need boy friend.  If you don't have that, people think that you came from some different planet.  Also premature sexual habits are increasing rapidly in this culture, which will be more troublesome for a parent as well as child.  Another fact he was saying, parents can't punish their own children.  If they punish and came to know by somebody, then social service will take them to their care home and wont give back to parents.  I was surprised with this statement.  As far as I know, most English countries protect people's privacy ve...

Eid Mubarak - memory of Ijan

Another Eid eve has gone.  I still re-collect the lively moments of my good friend Roshizal Ibrahim ( Ijan ).  He was active, jovial and friendly with everybody.  I used to advise him for his heavy smoking habit.  He always smiles at me, when I advise.  Whatever obstacles, his approach to them was very cool minded and with a smile.  Every time Hari Raya ( Ramzan ) Open House, he used to invite me and I used to be with him.  In fact, I never imagined it would have been our last open house.  He was the coordinator of our badminton team.  Very good and active player.  I was enjoying with them to play.  Every week he arrange at least one game for everybody.  The day before Michael Jackson passed away, was his last game with us.  They all played till early morning 2:00am.  He went off to home and slept off; never woke up.  It was shocking news to all of us.  I still wanted to re-collect him at this Ramzan time....

US Senator calls Infosys 'chop shop'

US Senator criticized Infosys as "chop shop".  It is not only affected to Infosys, but all Indian born companies, who are working in US.  When US started suffering they are started blaming to Indians.  He said all high paid jobs are outsourced to India with lower wages.  So, the lazy US people are not getting jobs.  There is new reason.   First blaming starts by George Bush.  He was saying "Indians are consuming more  foods".  Second blaming was by Barak Obama.  In his statement it was "Indians buying more vehicle, so the fuel price going high".  The actual stealing work starts by Americans.  Brilliant Indians create some good things, technologies etc, they took patent over it and steal.  The very best example is "hotmail".  Though they bought over it, the brain behind it was a great Indian.  Why did they bought over it?  Why can't they create same kind instead of bought over?  They even stole the...

Cars that detect alcohol intoxication and fatigue

Japanese car maker Nissan launched their concept car with alcohol detection system in mid of 2007.  It uses breathalyzer-like detection systems may provide even greater traction for Japanese efforts to keep impaired drivers off the road.  Nissan's alcohol-detection sensors check odor, sweat and driver awareness, issuing a voice alert from the navigation system and locking up the ignition if necessary.  Odor sensors on the driver and passenger seats read alcohol levels, while a detector in the gear-shift knob measures the perspiration of the driver's palm when starting the car.  But Nissan's car includes a mounted camera that monitors alertness by eye scan, ringing bells and issuing a voice message in Japanese or English if a driver should pull over and rest.  For more details, visit their official page .

Why the Malaysian media exposing sex as their primary content?

There are 30 over news papers and tabloids in this country.  However, if you look at their everyday content, most filled with sexual contents.  I have been asked myself several times, why this medias are exposing these contents than any other?  There have been a lot more than this to discuss.  Most Malaysians uses own vehicle to travel.  Though the petrol price is less than one liter mineral water, the parking charges are too high.  Why there is no investigative journalism to find out the source and bring the matter to world to prevent these?  One true fact in this country is, Media cannot write anything against the ruling party / government.  So, the media is criticized here.  Last couple of weeks, "most viewed" content of some major local medias are about sex.  One among the top was the sexual activities of teenagers.  Some times, it will be the matter of some family like wife's/husband's secret affair, or wife revenge on hubby's ...

Business : Everything is Business

I have had a conversation with an elderly couple, recently.  When the subject leads to relationship and family, they told me about their story.  In fact, it might be the present story running most places.  To spend time with their one and only grand son, who is an year old, their grand daughter set up time.  Those specific times, if they wish, can go and spend but not more or less.  It was like a business meet, she instructs her in-laws, to come and meet.  I was in a thought for a while.  Then suddenly another couple said, now in-laws are putting up things like business.  Even some considers their marriage is like a business tie-up.  The fast moving world is now putting up everything as business and the value of family is becoming negligible.  If you think of it, to meet their own grand son setting up time, what is it all about saying?  There have been many kind of business running in this world.  Apart from all of those, wha...

Frozen heart

I happened to be an eye witness of an accident followed by its death yesterday, while I was on my way to office.  It was haunting me for long hours.  The victim was not a human being but a small kitten. But it was alerting me all the way until the world cup soccer fever.  But it was following me again, when I was passing through the same place in the morning.  It seems somebody was scratching me again and again.   I was heading to catch my bus to office yesterday night.  At a narrow road, I was feeling somebody following me silently and turned back and found a Lexus SUV was just behind.  Given up my way to it and was heading again.  But some how I just look back my way and found a kitten was fighting with death.  It's head was broken and right eye came out.  One of its front leg too was broken.  It was an heart-breaking scene.  I don't know what should I do on this; I couldn't.  Walkig forward while looking back on that sc...

Google video chat in Linux - Some dependencies

Another week of testing with the best Linux IM client "Pidgin".  I could configure the Office communicator, Yahoo, MSN and gtalk.  The best feature I can see in this, all chat windows can be accommodate with tabbed option in a single window.  This is very good feature and this was the one, I was searching for a long time, when Jabber ( I was using Pandion client ) was switched to Office Communicator at my office.  I think, I seen this tabbing option only in Pidgin version 2.7.1 onwards.  Here, I tested 2 versions of Pidgin. Pidgin 2.6.6 My Ubuntu Lucid kernel is "2.6.32-22-generic" . This version of Pidgin comes by default with Ubuntu Lucid.  What I had to do is, install the 3 dependencies.  Install the following with the order it mentioned. 1. libmp3lame0 2. gstreamer0.10-plugins-multiverse 3. gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 4. pidgin-PPA packages After these 4 items installed, I had tried to restart the services of pidgin, but was not successful.  So...

Linux testing with office stuffs

Another week of testing has completed.  I have found success rate of 95%.  It was a fun-loving work for me.  Installation of Linux was not a rocket science, but make my office application work well, is some what similar to rocket science.  Thanks to Google and Ubuntu communities; helped a lot to do many changes.   One of the major problem I still faces, using the Linux email client with cache mode.  I don't want to waste my disk space using this.  But there is no other client supports non-cache mode with Exchange server; except Microsoft technology.  To over-come this, I had to install Office applications for Linux.  But the response of Microsoft Outlook from Linux is very very slow than from Windows.  I think, Microsoft still hate Linux like anything.  All applications are fast running on this 1GB memory Core Duo system; except Microsoft stuffs.  All my client servers are connecting via SOCKS.  I was worrying how ...

Testing Linux latest releases

Last one week, I was breaking my head on testing different flavors of Linux.  I opted best desktop version Ubuntu Lucid Lynx and best laptop version Open SUSE 11.2.  My installation set-up was on HP Pavilion tx 2000 Entertainment PC.  It's configuration consists of AMD Athlon X2 64-bit with nVIDIA GeForce graphic controllers, 2GB RAM, 150 GB HDD, Broadcom BCM4312 WLAN card with web-cam and other stuffs like finger print reader etc. Started testing from Open SUSE.  First installed its KDE version.  This is the best interface I saw and very coolest environment.  First I attracted with the "sysinfo" option on the window, when I clicks.  It reveals the graphical display of my HDD usage, system details and much more.  Another plus I found on it is the LVM part ( I am too keen on it ).  The LVM works well on it and I used only 60GB out of my 150 for all the purpose and kept aside the rest of the space for future use.  This is fantastic option...

My experiments

Image
Let me share some of experiments.  The biggest ever experiment in our life is marriage.  But I am not going tell anything about that now.  Let it be there; that experiment never going to be end till our death.  Some lucky fellows gets only one time to experience it; other unlucky may try more than once.  It's the story of life.  Let it be there. Yesterday, I had night duty.  This month's last night duty.  I had enjoyed yesterday's night duty very well, since I forgot to bring my head phone.  If it had with me, then I would have been lazy to work after a while.  So, I enjoyed till the last minute yesterday at office.  Eppokalypse ( Our bus driver's nick name - It means always tempered in Malayalam) came late to pick us and by the time reached KL Sentral was around 8:30am.  Went with my friend "Ikka" to Restaurant Vishaalaachi to have 2 "veettu dosai", one vadai and a "teh tarik".  After eating this "heavy" break fast ( for...

Tension - A modern accessory of life

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Luke 12:34 Where are we heading to? Do we ever ask this question to our self ? I believe, most are in the race track of achieving something for their world life, not for eternal life. Couple of days ago, I had a conversation with one of my good friend. I know her from my studies. Whenever we meet or talk she always says, tension; but the word doesn't imply that meaning, what she express. But that day when I spoke to her, I really felt that meaning what she says. Earlier, when she says "tension", there was a joy in her heart. Now, she lost that and started to eat the real tension life. This made me to think about our life; what and where we leading? Those good old days, there was no word of tension heard from anybody. Now, look at your surroundings, all are running for something and attracting the tension life. What is the benefit from this? Nothing, just increasing something heavy...
