More happiness, more health, more money. Is that the meaning of this "Gong Xi Fa Chai" ? I have no idea. But I learned this from one of my chinese colleague. All about money. And it's related to Chinese New Year.
This year, as per Chinese Lunar Calendar, is Rat year, which is also known by its former name Wu Zi.
There are 12 animal names; so by this system, year names are re-cycled every 12 years. This is Year 4706 by Chinese Calendar. Rat, which holds a place of honor as the first creature in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese lunar calendar. Actual Chinese New Year celebration will last for 15days. The initial day start with family get-together and such things. Later on many activities.Today was the Dragon dance, near by to my house's shopping center. I hope the whole KL (Kuala Lumpur) had the Dragon dance today. It's very first time I am watching the Dragon dance. When I came to know, Chinese New Year, the Dragon dance will be there, I was eagerly waiting for the day. Fortunately, it fall on a saturday and I didn't have duty too. So, I could really enjoy the Dragon dance. I was bit late, when I got into Bangsar Village, oh! the crowd was terrible. I thought, I can't even take a snap. But lucky at 1st floor, I got a space. Since from morning, I was driving around KL, I couldn't charge my battery. When I took around 100 snaps, oh my God, my battery was showing red. And lucky, with that, I took another 350 shots. Till I came to home, there was no problem.
In what significance, this Dragon dance, I have no idea. But, it was fantastic. I really liked it. Love to watch once more and appreciate the artists talent. Bangsar was packed from the morning itself. It's unusual on Saturday. I think, it's mainly for this purpose. Thus one more day of my life passed and a day of Chinese Lunar New Year.
Wishes you all Gong Xi Fa Chai.
